Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second verification step when you log in to KPanel. Even if someone obtains your password, they cannot access your account without also having access to your authenticator app. We strongly recommend enabling 2FA on all accounts.

What You Will Need

• Your KPanel account credentials
• An authenticator app on your smartphone, such as:
  • Google Authenticator (iOS / Android)
  • Authy (iOS / Android)
  • Apple Passwords (iOS 18+)

Enabling 2FA in KPanel

1. Log in to KPanel at kpanel.kapsulecloud.com
2. Click your account name or profile icon in the top right
3. Go to Account Settings > Security
4. Click Enable 2FA
5. A QR code will be displayed

Linking Your Authenticator App

1. Open your authenticator app on your phone
2. Tap the option to add a new account (usually a + button)
3. Scan the QR code displayed in KPanel
4. Your app will generate a six-digit code that refreshes every 30 seconds

Completing Setup

1. Enter the current six-digit code from your authenticator app into the confirmation field in KPanel
2. Click Verify
3. KPanel will display a set of recovery codes. Save these in a secure location (such as a password manager)

Logging In With 2FA

After enabling 2FA, your login process changes:

1. Enter your email address and password as usual
2. When prompted, open your authenticator app and enter the current six-digit code
3. Click Verify

Disabling 2FA

If you need to disable 2FA (for example, if you are changing devices):

1. Go to Account Settings > Security in KPanel
2. Click Disable 2FA
3. Confirm with your password and a current 2FA code
