Transferring a Domain to Kapsule
Transferring your domain to Kapsule brings your domain registration and hosting under one roof, making it easier to manage DNS, renewals, and email. The process typically takes two to seven days.
Before You Start
Before initiating a transfer, confirm the following at your current registrar:
- The domain is unlocked (registrar lock must be disabled)
- The domain is not within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer (ICANN policy prevents transfers in this period)
- You have access to the authorisation code (also called an EPP code, auth code, or transfer key)
- The WHOIS email contact is an address you can access, as you may receive an approval email
Step 1: Unlock Your Domain
Log in to your current registrar and look for a "Domain Lock" or "Registrar Lock" setting. Disable it. The interface varies by registrar, but this option is typically in the domain's settings or security section.
Step 2: Get Your Authorisation Code
At your current registrar, request the EPP/authorisation code for the domain. This is usually available in the domain management area or via a "Send auth code" button.
Step 3: Initiate the Transfer in KPanel
- Log in to KPanel at kpanel.kapsulecloud.com
- Go to Domains
- Click Transfer Domain
- Enter your domain name and click Continue
- Enter the authorisation code when prompted
- Review the transfer details and complete payment if applicable
Domain transfers typically include one year of registration added to the domain's current expiry date.
Step 4: Approve the Transfer
After submitting, you may receive an approval email from your current registrar. Click the approval link in that email to speed up the process. If you do not approve or reject, the transfer will proceed automatically after five days in most cases.

If your transfer has not completed after seven days, contact Kapsule support via KPanel under Support.
After the Transfer
Once the transfer completes, your domain will appear in KPanel under Domains. Review your DNS records in KPanel to make sure everything has transferred correctly.
