Setting Up Email Forwarding
Setting Up Email Forwarding
Email forwarding lets you receive emails sent to your Kapsule address (for example, hello@yourdomain.com) directly in another inbox, such as Gmail or Outlook. Forwarded emails arrive in your external inbox automatically.
When to Use Forwarding
Forwarding is useful when you:
- Want to receive business email in your personal inbox without managing a separate account
- Are setting up a role address (like
info@orsupport@) that should land in an existing mailbox - Need a simple, low-maintenance email solution
If you want a full-featured mailbox with storage, see Setting Up Your Mailbox instead.
Creating an Email Forwarder in KPanel
Email forwarders are managed on the Email > Forwarders page, not within an individual mailbox.
- Log in to KPanel at kpanel.kapsulecloud.com
- Navigate to Email in the left sidebar
- Click Forwarders
- Click Create forwarder
- Enter the source address (for example,
hello@yourdomain.com) - Enter the destination address to forward to
- Click Save
Forwarding takes effect immediately.
To keep a copy of forwarded messages on Kapsule as well, configure the source address as a real mailbox and set up forwarding from it. Without a mailbox, forwarded messages are not stored on Kapsule's servers.
Testing Your Forward
After setting up forwarding, send a test email to the source address from an unrelated account. It should arrive in the destination inbox within a minute or two.
Some email providers (such as Gmail) may mark forwarded messages as spam if SPF or DKIM is not properly configured. Kapsule sets up SPF and DKIM automatically for hosted domains. See SPF, DKIM, and DMARC Explained for details.
Removing a Forwarder
To delete a forwarder:
- Go to Email > Forwarders in KPanel
- Find the forwarder and click Delete
- Confirm removal
