Upgrading or Changing Your Hosting Plan
Upgrading or Changing Your Hosting Plan
You can change your hosting plan at any time from KPanel. Whether you are growing into a larger plan or adjusting to a different tier, the process is straightforward and billing is handled automatically.
When to Upgrade
Consider upgrading your plan if you are:
- Approaching your current storage or bandwidth limit
- Needing to host additional websites
- Requiring a higher PHP memory limit for plugins or themes
- Looking for improved performance from a higher-tier plan
How to Upgrade Your Plan
- Log in to KPanel at kpanel.kapsulecloud.com
- Go to Billing in the left menu
- Click Change Plan next to your current subscription
- Review the available plans and click Select on the plan you want
- Confirm the change and review the billing adjustment shown
- Click Confirm Upgrade
How Billing Works on a Plan Change
Upgrading: When you upgrade mid-cycle, you are charged the prorated difference between your current plan and the new plan for the remaining days in your billing period. Your new features and limits are available immediately.
Downgrading: When you downgrade, the lower rate takes effect at your next renewal date. You retain your current plan's features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
You will receive an invoice for any immediate charge when upgrading. This is visible in Billing > Invoices in KPanel. See Billing and Invoices for more detail.
What Happens to Your Websites
Your websites, databases, and email accounts remain unaffected during a plan change. There is no downtime associated with changing plans.
If you are downgrading to a plan with fewer included websites or less storage, KPanel will notify you if your current usage exceeds the new plan's limits.
Cancelling Instead of Downgrading
If you no longer need hosting, see Cancellation and Refund Policy for the steps and applicable terms.
